The key to internet safety is using common sense. Here are the basic rules to protect yourself:

1. Never give anyone personal information about yourself such as your last name, address, financial information etc...

2. This is not a commercial site. If you receive job offers etc.... they are not real! Do not engage in any commercial activity with anyone you meet on this site.

3. Do not physically meet anyone through this site. This is not a dating site.

4. Use a free email account such as yahoo mail. This helps to conceal your identity. Using a work or school email account is not recommended.

5. Never disclose personal information in your profile.

Examples of Abuse

Here are some limited examples of abuse. These are just examples (there are many other types of abuse):

1. Offers of jobs. This is spam. Ignore these offers, they are a scam.

2. Sexual advances. Do not reply. Ignore the emails and block them.

3. Harrassment such as racist remarks. Do not reply. Ignore the emails and block them.
